Futon Frames

A futon mattress is just a mattress without the frame. Futon frames are what give futons their versatility. The frames can be made from aluminum, wood, wicker, or they can even be upholstered.

Aluminum futon frames are lightweight and come in a variety of colors, the most common being black, chrome, or white. Aluminum is a good choice for kids’ rooms because it’s durable. College students will also find that aluminum frames match most room styles.

Wooden futon frames last longer but are also heavier.  They can come in a variety of finishes to coordinate with other furniture in the room. A good choice for wood is yellow pine because it does not dent and scratch as easily as most woods.
